Ron Spurlock
City Council Member, Place 2
Ron Spurlock was born and raised in Dallas and Oak Cliff and attended Dallas schools.
He has taken and taught training sessions on the OU Continuing Education Campus on negotiations, arbitration, etc.
He worked as an International Harvester (NAVISTAR) for 41 years. He served 18 and a half years as an International Representative for the International Union, UAW. He handled contract negotiations, arbitrations, etc from 1988 to 2000. And from 2000 to 2006 he did community action. And then he retired in December of 2006.
He moved to Oak Leaf in October of 2003 and joined Oak Leaf City Council in July 2006 as the Place 2 Council Member, completing the term vacated when Paul Klooster became Mayor.He was elected to a full term in May 2007.
Prior to joining the council, he volunteered and served on the Thoroughfare and City Fee Committees and on the Oak Leaf Business Development Corporation since the incorporation in 2006.
