Susan Walker
City Council Member, Place 5
Susan Walker was born in Palo Alto, California and has travelled and lived internationally for several years. She moved to Texas in 1976 and moved into her current residence in Oak Leaf in 1979.
She graduated with a B.A. from UCLA. She is retired from telecommunications and communications software industry in which her last years were spent creating and managing international business alliances.
Susan was appointed to complete the term of a retiring council person for Place 5 in 2005. She was elected to the position in 2006. She has created, administered and documented the results of the first city-wide survey prior to being appointed to City Council. She also led the creation of the first city Master Plan which was adopted in 2006.
Susan has been married for 31 years and has two sons who attended Red Oak public schools until their high school graduation.She is currently serving as a docent at the Crow Collection of Asian Art and as a volunteer at the Dallas Museum of Art.
