For the purpose of interpreting this chapter, certain words said herein are defined as follows:
Building Line. A line beyond which buildings must be set-back from the street or road right-of-way of a street or road right-of-way line on which the property fronts.
Engineer. A person duly authorized under the provisions of the Texas Engineering Registration Act, as heretofore or hereafter amended, to practice the profession of engineering.
Lot. An undivided tract or parcel of land having frontage on a public street and designated as a distinct and separate tract, which is, or in the future may be offered for sale, conveyance, transfer or improvement as a building site.
Street Width. The shortest distance between the lines, which delineate the right-of-way of a street building line.
Subdivision. The words βsubdivisionβ or βadditionβ shall be any division of any lot, tract or parcel of land into two (2) or more lots or sites for the purpose of sale or of building development, whether immediate or future. It also includes resubdivision or replatting of land, lots or tracts. A division of land under this chapter does not include a division of land into parts greater than five acres, where each part has access and where no public improvement is being dedicated (LGC 212.004(a)). Any division of must adhere to all minimum lot dimensions and must allow for all right-of-way dimension requirements and easements as per this chapter.
Surveyor. A licensed state land surveyor or a registered public surveyor as authorized by the state statutes to practice the profession of surveying.
